Grand Light's restoration and custom lighting team has years of experience in welding and abrasive blasting. We perform manual operations such as MIG, TIG, spot welding, and silver soddering in the creation of custom lighting fixtures and the restoration of historical pieces.
Prior to refinishing, metal components typically will undergo abbrasive blasting to remove any undesirable residual contaminants on the surface, and to smoothen the surface profile. This process eliminates any rough edges or surfaces created from years of wear and tear or as a result of the welding process.
Grand Light utilizes metal preparation techniques including:
- Abrasive Blasting including silica sand, coal or smelter slag, or other metal, synthetic and organic materials.
