New Haven, CT - After several stages of experimentation, custom recipes were developed to achieve the color and the look the original historical fixtures. Every fixture will undergo stripping, priming, being painted gold, and then hand rubbed with the special recipe to get a rich gold-copper tone. Work is complete on fixtures of type K, J, L, M, R and A. See pictures under the fold.
New Haven, CT - Grand Light has had the Gowanda luminaries under work for the past few weeks. Upon their arrival, the fixtures underwent a complete individual inspection: each fixture was photographed and it's condition was evaluated based on mechanics, electronic, glass and finish condition. The Grand Light artisans were discouraged to discover that the condition of most luminaries would result in having to completely refinish most of these fixtures.

New Haven, CT - Grand Light has completed the restoration of thirty three historic lighting fixtures from a private residence in Hartford, Connecticut.

New Haven, CT - The restoration of numerous sculpture-like lighting fixtures from Yale University's Morse College has been completed.

New Haven, CT - Grand Light has begun the restoration of four historic lighting fixtures from the Briton Hadden Memorial Building. The building is home to the Yale Daily News, which is claimed to be the "oldest college daily" in the United States.
New Haven, CT - Grand Light has begun the process of restoring numerous lighting fixtures from Yale University's Morse & Stiles Colleges.  The fixtures include commissioned work by Oliver Andrews, a well known and respected California sculptor, author and educator at UCLA.
The restoration of dozens of lighting fixtures from New Haven, Connecticut's Shubert Theater is moving along steadily.  The fixtures include nine small flush-mounts, 18 large flush-mounts, 5 pendants, and dozens of one-light and two-light sconces.
The Shubert Theater of New Haven, CT is currently undergoing renovations and Grand Light has been contracted to restore all of the lighting fixtures back to their earlier state.
