Completed Project
After seeing a beautiful chandelier while traveling in Europe, a client from New Jersey called Grand Light to see if we could replicate one for his own home. The only piece of information that was provided was a digital camera photograph of the chandelier. After much communication with the client, Grand Light artisans began to sketch the interpretations of what the chandelier looked like, and how we were going to recreate it based on the provided photograph.
Our custom lighting artisans were more than happy to take on the task, and immediately began work on the production of the custom shop drawings that would serve as the blueprint for production, once approved by the client.
Once the drawings were approved, Grand Light began production on the chandelier utilizing iron and steel, and incorporating old fashioned blacksmith techniques to achieve many of the intricate details that the original contained.

The creation of custom drawings was an important part of the project as they served as the blueprint for our production process. Given the amount of intricate scrolling and details to this chandelier, it was drawn by hand.
Our drawings address the smallest of details, allowing our clients to fully visualize the fixture before it goes into production. This reduces the possibility of error, and allows Grand Light to fulfill its commitment of delivering high quality lighting fixtures on schedule.
The drawings specified important details such as:
Multiple Views Showing Ring and Arm Details
Dimensions of the Fixture
Type of Materials Being Used
Detail on Scrolls
Spade design on the bobche

The chandelier was fabricated using iron and steel, incorporating old fashioned blacksmith techniques to achieve many of the intricate details that the original contained. It featured ten arms, each of which was topped with a white fabric shade, and the frame was powder coated using a textured matte black finish. In order to arrive safely to our client in New Jersey, we had to build the crate and cradle the chandelier inside.
Following a detailed inspection for structural integrity and approval of the quality of finish, the custom chandelier was carefully placed in a custom-built crate to protect against any possible damage during shipment from Connecticut to New Jersey.
